Which Size Is the Best Value?

Among the Domino’s pizza sizes, area grows much faster than the price. A Large (14″) has 153.9 square inches, about 36% more than a Medium’s 113.1, but costs only $2.00 more at every store. Here is the cheese pizza price per square inch at each size:

From the 10-inch Small to the 16-inch X-Large, each Domino’s size steps up by two inches.

The bigger the pizza, the less you pay per bite. In Dallas and Los Angeles, the X-Large cheese pizza is the cheapest per square inch. In New York, where the X-Large isn’t sold, the Large is the best value. Coupons can change the math, so check our Domino’s Deals & Coupons guide first.

Medium vs. Large: Is Two Mediums Better?

Comparing Domino’s pizza sizes for a group? Two Medium pizzas give you 226.2 square inches of pizza, about 47% more than one Large (153.9 sq in), but on the regular menu they cost much more:

  • New York: two Medium cheese pizzas are $29.98, and one Large is $16.99.
  • Dallas: two Mediums are $24.98, and one Large is $14.49.
  • Los Angeles: two Mediums are $29.98, and one Large is $16.99.

Deals change that. With the Mix & Match deal, two Medium 2-topping pizzas cost $13.98 in New York and Dallas ($6.99 each) and $15.98 in Los Angeles. And two or more Medium 3-topping pizzas were $9.99 each at all three stores. So two Mediums on a deal can beat one Large at menu price.

Servings and Slices per Size

Domino’s’s online menu doesn’t list a fixed number of slices for each size. Pizzas are pie-cut by default, and Crunchy Thin pizzas are square-cut by default. When you order online you can choose pie cut, square cut or uncut. Square cut gives more, smaller pieces. The Domino™ is the exception: Domino’s says it’s cut into two slices.

What Domino’s does publish is how many servings it counts per pizza in its August 2026 Nutrition Guide:

  • Small Hand Tossed or Gluten Free: 3 servings (⅓ pizza each)
  • Small Crunchy Thin: 4 servings (¼ each)
  • Medium Hand Tossed, Handmade Pan or Parmesan Stuffed Crust: 8 servings (⅛ each)
  • Medium New York Style: 6 servings (⅙ each)
  • Medium Crunchy Thin: 4 servings (¼ each)
  • Large Hand Tossed or Crunchy Thin: 8 servings (⅛ each)
  • Large New York Style: 6 servings (⅙ each)
  • X-Large New York Style: 6 servings (⅙ each)
  • Domino™: 2 servings (½ each), cut into 2 slices

These servings are the portions Domino’s uses for its calorie counts. For calories per serving, see our Domino’s Calories guide.

Which Size Should You Order?

Each of the Domino’s pizza sizes fits a different order:

  • Small (10″): for one person, or when you need Gluten Free crust. It’s the only size with Gluten Free.
  • Medium (12″): the only size with Handmade Pan and Parmesan Stuffed Crust, and the size used in most Medium-pizza deals.
  • Large (14″): the best value in New York, where X-Large isn’t sold, with Hand Tossed, Thin or New York Style crust.
  • X-Large (16″): the biggest pizza, New York Style only. It wasn’t sold at our New York store.
  • Domino™: a personal Detroit-style pizza for one, from $7.99.

For every price on the menu, see our Domino’s Menu Prices guide.

Our Methodology

These Domino’s Pizza Sizes were checked on 16 Oct 2026 on Domino’s official online ordering menu at dominos.com, for carryout, at three stores: New York (170 W 23rd St, New York, NY 10011, store #3681), Dallas (940 N Riverfront Blvd, Dallas, TX 75207, store #6986) and Los Angeles (740 S. Olive Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013, store #8385). We recorded every size, crust and menu item at all three stores and spot-checked the totals in Domino’s own online cart. Each price column shows the lowest-to-highest price across the three stores, and the note under each item shows the exact price in each city. Calories come from Domino’s official Nutrition Guide (August 2026).

We never estimate, average or invent a price. Items not sold at one of the three stores are marked n/a. Each Domino’s store sets its own prices, and delivery orders can cost more, so check your local store on dominos.com before you order.
