What Does Arby’s Serve?

Arby’s built its menu around slow-roasted deli meats — roast beef above all, but also turkey, ham and Angus beef — sliced fresh and served on a variety of breads, rather than the grilled-patty burgers most fast food competitors are known for. The same slow-roasted beef anchors the Roast Beef and Beef ‘n Cheddar lineups, the Cheesesteaks, and several Meat & 3 Box and Meals combos, alongside curly fries, Steak Nuggets bowls, chicken sandwiches and shakes.

The fixed research restaurants are 5370 N Beach St, Haltom City, TX (Fort Worth market), 1174 S. Kirkman Rd., Orlando, FL, and 3815 S High St, Columbus, OH. Taxes, delivery markups and optional customizations are excluded.

Why Arby’s Menus and Prices Vary

Our own three-city research found real price and availability differences between restaurants. Prices differed on nearly every category checked, and two items showed genuine store-level availability gaps rather than a uniform national menu: Crinkle Fries weren’t offered at our Orlando store, Low Fat Chocolate Milk was temporarily unavailable at both Fort Worth and Orlando, and the Chicken Slider Kids Meal was temporarily unavailable at Orlando only. Breakfast showed the widest gap of all — none of our three anchor restaurants offered it on their live online-ordering menu at the time we checked, since Arby’s breakfast is tied to specific location types like travel-stop partnerships rather than sold everywhere.

Arby’s Deals

Arby’s app-based offer program is called Arby’s Deals. According to Arby’s own official deals page, new members who sign up receive 25% off their order, plus five more offers unlocked after redeeming that first deal. The page also highlighted a rotating promotion — a “BOGO any size side” offer running once a week for members during our research window — as an example of the ongoing app-exclusive deals members can expect.

Arby’s Deals is structured as an offer-and-coupon program delivered through the app rather than a traditional points-per-dollar loyalty system with membership tiers — treat any third-party claim about a specific points system as unverified unless Arby’s own official page confirms it. Deals are redeemed by ordering directly through the Arby’s app.

Arby’s Locations

According to a ScrapeHero count of Arby’s US locations, there were 3,413 Arby’s restaurants in the United States as of April 16, 2024 — the most current independently-sourced figure available at the time of our research, and explicitly dated as such rather than presented as a live, up-to-the-minute count. Arby’s parent company is Inspire Brands, which also owns Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, among other chains.

A Short Brand History

Brothers Forrest and Leroy Raffel opened the first Arby’s in Boardman, Ohio on July 23, 1964, built entirely around a slow-roasted roast beef sandwich at a time when nearly every fast food competitor was focused on hamburgers — that original sandwich is the direct ancestor of today’s Classic Roast Beef. The brand has changed ownership several times since, and is now owned by Inspire Brands.

Arby’s is one of several restaurant brands operated by Inspire Brands, alongside Buffalo Wild Wings, Sonic, Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins.
