W. Kent Taylor opened the first Texas Roadhouse in Clarksville, Indiana on February 17, 1993, built around made-from-scratch food, hand-cut steaks and a concept the company describes as originally “sketched on a cocktail napkin.” The company is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky.
