Each guide answers a separate search purpose. This entity hub keeps the brand overview concise while the linked pages provide the detailed prices, calories, availability notes and store differences. That structure prevents the complete menu from being duplicated across multiple URLs.

Subway Rewards — Sub Club

Subway’s official current loyalty program is called Sub Club. According to Subway’s own official rewards page, members earn 10 points per $1 spent, and 400 points equal $2 in Subway® Cash toward food and beverages. New members receive 250 bonus points upon joining, plus a birthday reward for members who register their birthday in their Sub Club profile, and exclusive deals through the Subway app.

Sub Club is a straightforward points-per-dollar program rather than a multi-tier system — treat any third-party claim about a different points structure or tier names as unverified unless Subway’s own official page confirms it.

For real current pricing on the items you’d earn Sub Club points on, see our complete Subway Menu Prices guide.

Subway Locations

According to a ScrapeHero count, there were approximately 20,050 Subway restaurants in the United States as of June 8, 2026 — the most current independently-sourced figure available at the time of our research, and explicitly dated as such rather than presented as a live, up-to-the-minute count. Subway’s own official newsroom separately reported the chain operates nearly 37,000 restaurants globally across more than 100 countries and territories, as of its April 2024 ownership announcement.

Subway is owned by Roark Capital, an Atlanta-based private equity firm with roughly $38 billion in equity under management that specializes in franchise and multi-location businesses — the sale completed April 30, 2024, according to Subway’s own official newsroom.

For a nearby restaurant, use the official location finder. Open the selected restaurant’s page to check its address, hours and current promotions. Hours, service options and menu availability — including Breakfast, Soups and Pizza Sub — can differ between nearby restaurants, as our own three-city research found.

A Short Brand History

According to Subway’s own official history page, 17-year-old Fred DeLuca asked family friend Dr. Peter Buck, a nuclear physicist, for advice on paying his college tuition. With a $1,000 investment and a handshake agreement, the two opened their first location — Pete’s Super Submarines — in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1965, selling 312 sandwiches on opening day. The brand has since grown into one of the largest restaurant chains in the world and, as of 2024, is owned by Roark Capital.

Subway Nutrition and Allergen Information

Our three-city research captured calories from Subway’s own official national nutrition data where a combined figure exists — sandwich, Protein Bowl and breakfast-sandwich calories are covered, while several categories (Salads, Snacks/Sides, Drinks, Deli Faves as sold, Combos, most wraps) have no published combined calorie figure anywhere in Subway’s own documentation and are shown honestly as “Not published by Subway” rather than estimated. See our complete Subway Menu Prices guide or a specialist child guide for the exact figures available per item.

This research pass covered pricing and calories, not ingredient-level allergen data. For allergen information, use Subway’s official nutrition and allergen documentation or ask restaurant staff directly, since preparation and shared kitchen equipment can affect cross-contact risk.

Our Methodology

This entity hub was verified on 7 Sep 2026. Brand history and founding facts were checked against Subway’s own official history page, not a third-party source. The Roark Capital sale and global restaurant count were checked against Subway’s own official newsroom release. The US restaurant count (~20,050 locations) was checked against a ScrapeHero report dated June 8, 2026 — the most current independently-sourced figure available, dated explicitly rather than presented as live. Sub Club rewards terms were checked against Subway’s own official rewards page at subway.com/en-us/rewards.

The price snapshot uses the same fixed three-city research published in our complete menu pillar and specialist child pages — Fort Worth, Orlando and Columbus. Each figure belongs to its named restaurant. No national price is inferred, no missing value is estimated and delivery totals are excluded. This hub summarizes the cluster; detailed tables remain on their dedicated pages.
